Cast from iPhone or iPad

iPhones can cast using AirPlay or screen mirroring depending on your TV or streaming device. Choose what you're casting to below.

Roku

iPhone to Roku

Step 1: Start the movie on your iPhone or iPad. Enter full screen.

Step 2: Tap the AirPlay button in the bottom-right corner of the video player.
Step 3: Select your Roku device from the list.
Step 4: A code will appear on your TV.Enter that code on your iPhone or iPad to confirm the connection.

Step 5: Enjoy the film! You may have to press play on your player one more time.

iPhone to Chromecast/GoogleTV

Sadly, iPhone does not reliably support direct Chromecast casting from the browser. The easiest options are:

Option 1: Use another device like: Mac, Windows laptop, or Android phone.

Option 2:  Try casting to a different TV or streaming device, like Apple TV, Roku, or any TV with built-in AirPlay support.

Step 1: Open the movie page on your iPhone or iPad and press Play. Enter full screen.

Make sure you're viewing the site in Safari.
Step 2: Tap the AirPlay button in the bottom-right corner of the video player.
Step 3: Choose your Apple TV or AirPlay-compatible TV from the list.

Android to Roku

Step 1: Open the movie on your Android phone and look for the Cast icon in the video player.

Step 2: Tap the Cast icon and select your Roku device from the list.
Step 3: If your Roku asks you to allow the connection, approve it using your Roku remote.

Step 4: The movie should begin playing on your TV.

• Screen mirroring or casting is enabled on your Roku
• Your phone and Roku are on the same Wi-Fi network

Android to Chromecast

Step 1: Make sure your Android phone and your Chromecast or Google TV are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Mac to Roku

Step 1: Open the player in Safari. Chrome won't play nice with Roku.

Mac to Chromecast

Step 1: Open the movie in Google Chrome on your Mac.
Step 2: Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of Chrome and select “Cast…”

Step 3: Choose your Chromecast or Google TV device from the list.
Step 5: Select whether you’d like to cast the current tab or your entire screen, then start playback.

Step 6: The movie should begin playing on your TV.

Windows/PC to Roku

Step 3: If prompted on your TV, allow the connection using your Roku remote.

Step 4: Once connected, open the movie in your browser and play it. Your screen will mirror to the TV.

Windows/PC to Chromecast

Connect with an HDMI Cable

-For the best picture quality and the most reliable playback, we strongly recommend connecting your device directly to your TV or projector with an HDMI cable instead of casting wirelessly.
-Wireless casting can sometimes introduce buffering, connection issues, or reduced video quality. A wired HDMI connection provides the most consistent experience for screenings.

Laptop with an HDMI port: Standard HDMI to HDMI cable.
‍Laptop with only USB-C ports (such as many MacBooks): USB-C to HDMI adapter and a standard HDMI cable.

‍Phone
Many Android phones: USB-C to HDMI cable or adapter.
‍iPhone 15 or newer: USB-C to HDMI cable or adapter.
‍Older iPhones (Lightning port): Apple Lightning Digital AV Adapter and a standard HDMI cable.

‍Laptop Setup
Step 1: Connect the HDMI cable between your laptop and your TV or projector.
‍Step 2: Using your TV or projector remote, press Input or Source and select the correct HDMI input (such as HDMI 1 or HDMI 2).
‍Step 3: Configure your display if necessary.

Select Duplicate (recommended).

‍Open System Settings → Displays.
Adjust your display settings if needed.

‍Phone Setup
Step 1: Connect the appropriate adapter or cable to your phone.
‍Step 2: Connect the HDMI cable to your TV or projector.
‍Step 3: Using your TV or projector remote, press Input or Source and select the correct HDMI input.
‍Step 4: Your phone should automatically appear on the screen.

‍Note
‍Not every Android phone supports HDMI video output. If nothing appears on the screen, check whether your specific phone model supports wired video output.

‍Tip
‍If you're screening We're So Dead for a group, we recommend testing your HDMI connection and audio a few minutes before your audience arrives to ensure everything is working properly.
